Drawings are processed on your computer
AutoRules processes your models and drawings on your own computer. According to the source code of version 1.0.0, the add-in has exactly ONE network path: the license module sending requests to the seller’s license server. The drawing and export rules contain no networking code, so your models, drawings, file names and file paths are not uploaded. The Buy and Support buttons only open the website in your browser.
This covers AutoRules only; Autodesk Inventor and Windows may have connections of their own.
Data sent to the license server
When you start a trial, activate a key or refresh a license, the add-in sends: the Machine ID (32 characters, a SHA-256 hash of the system UUID or the Windows MachineGuid — not a computer or user name), the product name and the add-in version; plus the license key when activating, and your current license file when refreshing. The add-in does not send an email address for the trial.
Purpose: verifying licenses, counting the 15 trial days, binding a license to one computer and preventing abuse. The server also receives the IP address of the connection; it is used for rate limiting and to prevent repeated trials (for trials the IP is stored as a hash).
Data when you buy, and service providers
When you buy: your email and order details (product, number of computers, amount, payment method, status). Services used: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email), PayPal (PayPal payments), Google Sheets (an order tracking sheet managed by the seller, containing email and order details). Bank transfers are reconciled manually by the seller. We do not store card numbers; card payments are handled by PayPal.
